Alphonso Davies is optimistic Julian Nagelsmann can help Bayern Munich recapture the UEFA Champions League, and dominate the club football scene in 2021/22.
Davies was an integral part of the Bayern side that beat Paris Saint-Germain in the 2019/20 Champions League final under Hansi Flick. It was one of six major trophies the Canadian got his hands on across the calendar year 2020, compared to one last season – the club’s ninth successive Bundesliga title.

“The team’s fairly new – new coaching staff, and we’re still learning the tactics, but I think we did well,” commented Davies after playing the full 90 minutes in Bayern’s 3-1 triumph over Borussia Dortmund.
“[Julian Nagelsmann] has new ideas, a new style of play. We know he’s on the younger side of the coaching world, but that doesn’t matter […] he’s going to come in and really bring his wisdom and what he knows to the football club.
“We know [repeating 2020’s sextuple] it’s not going to be easy. It’s going to be really difficult. But I feel like with the team, we can do it again.”
