It could not be confirmed whether or not ransom was paid for their freedom.

It was gathered some residents were relocating for fear of reprisal.

National Adviser of Issele-Azagba Development Union (IADU) Paul Offor said residents ‘were confused and do not know what to do; they also do not know who was responsible for the attack on the said herdsmen’.

Offor said there was shooting on Saturday morning but he could not ascertain where it came from.

He stressed that the police promised to investigate the shootings following a meeting with the Obi of Issele-Azagba, Jideuwa Ijei, and Fulani leaders.
