THE Police Commissioner, Hafiz Mohammed Inuwa, in Delta State has assumed duty.
Inuwa takes over from Adeyinka Adeleke, who has been nominated to attend a course at the National Institute of Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS) in Kuru, Jos, Plateau State.
The commissioner pledged to leverage on the existing security mechanism to enthron peace and safety in the state.
He said: “I will build on what my predecessor has done, which you can attest to, and I will not condone criminality.
“Everyone must do his work; indiscipline will not be tolerated. In the course of my duty, I will not tolerate criminality, be it herdsmen attacks or kidnapping. The issue is we can’t do it alone. We need your cooperation to succeed… we need to sensitise the environment… security is everyone’s business.”
Inuwa was born on March 21, 1964, at Ringim Local Government of Jigawa State. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and a Master’s in Public Policy and Administration (MPPA).
He enlisted into the Police on March 3, 1990. He later attended the Police Academy, Kaduna.
Inuwa was promoted to commissioner on October 31, 2017. He is married with children.
