THERE was confusion in Ikaram-Akoko Northwest Local Government Area of Ondo State yesterday when a commercial bus reportedly killed a school boy of Muslim Primary School in the town.
According to a source, the six-year-old pupil known as Sunday Promise died instantly while the driver of the bus drove off with the intention to escape.
However, with the efforts of residents, the hit and run driver was apprehended at Agbaluku-Arigidi Akoko, a distance of about 15km from Ikaram, scene of the accident.
The driver was handed over to police while the vehicle was impounded by police.

The Divisional Police Officer (DPO) for Okeagbe-Akoko, Johnson Akintola confirmed the incident, adding that the driver of the bus was with them and that investigation had commenced on the matter.
The Ikare unit of the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) Yinka Akande attributed the incident to excessive speeding.
He cautioned motorists to always slow down on the streets.
A community leader Alhaj Basiru Aminu attributed the accident to the driver’s recklessness.
