The people of Amaeze, Ishiagu community in Ivo Local Government of Ebonyi State have cried out over incessant killings and attacks.
The community, in a Save Our Soul letter to Governor David Umahi, through its lawyer, Patrick Egwu, lamented that between March and June, they have lost over three persons to attacks, with many others injured.
They urged Umahi to investigate the matter, to end the incessant killings and attacks and wanton destruction of properties.
One of the community leaders, Gilbert Okorie, who spoke to reporters in Abakaliki, the state capital, over the incident, accused a group of men said to be working for one of the prominent politicians in the community of carrying out the killings and attacks.
He listed those killed in the incessant attacks as Denis Chibueze Igwe and Orji Paul, who he said was killed with his body dumped inside a quarry pit, among others.

He accused the council Chairman, OnyebuchI Ogbadu, of shielding the group that had been masterminding the killings.
“People that are not from Amaeze wouldn’t have been coming from another community to attack the people of Amaeze and be killing them without the council chairman knowing about it. He has been keeping mute.
“From March to date, the Chairman of Ivo Local Government, Chief Onyebuchi Ogbadu, has kept mute”.
But Ogbadu dismissed Okorie’s allegation, saying it was untrue.
“It is Gilbert Okorie and his brother that are the problem. It is a known fact in Ebonyi, it is not something hidden and I am not keeping quiet.
“I am from Akaeze and they are from Ishiagu and they don’t always agree. When you talk, they say they are the owners of the land. So, I did not keep quiet, I have been writing to the government and nobody is keeping quiet. We don’t want to go into press war because it is not a press matter, it’s about justice, “ he said.
