Managing Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Oil Field Services Limited (NOFS), Mr. Bisi Oluoyo, has urged the Federal Government  and the  private sector to  join forces to invest in proven solutions to bring young people into productive employment.

He was on a visit to mark his 60th birthday with children at Save Our Souls (SOS) Children’s Village in Isolo area of Lagos.

Oluoyo, who is the Pastor in Charge, Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) Province 19, said the economy needs solutions that can get youths into productive employment.

These include building capabilities in young people, boosting job creation and encouraging entrepreneurship.

He stressed that it was critical to address the pervasive challenges of youth employment for the social security of the nation.

He said supporting global initiative such as SOS Children’s Village is essential to achieving the goals to end extreme poverty and boost shared prosperity for the population.

According to him, SOS Children’s Village has given vulnerable children and young people sustainable prospect and integrated them better into the world.

He called for support to upgrade the Centre’s physical infrastructure to assist in training and skills development and in promoting increased access to quality basic education for all children.

National Fund Development and Communication Coordinator Gboyega Fadowole-Aje said the centre was excited to host kind-hearted friends such as Pastor Bisi Oluoyo, who through their gifts and commitment today show their support.

He said SOS Children’s Village is an international non-government organisation (NGO) focused on supporting children who have lost or are at risk of losing parental care.

According to him, the  continued support to children around the world especially in Nigeria is only possible through the support of corporate bodies and individuals that collaborate with SOS  to ensure the children and young people have a future better than their past.

A highlight of the visit was the donation of food items to the village by the birthday celebrator.

The SOS Children’s Village was established in Nigeria in 1970.The villages are uniquely set-up to provide a home setting for orphans and vulnerable children.
