Edo engages tailors to produce facemasks

The Edo State Skills Development Agency (EdoJobs) has mobilised tailors and other micro and medium enterprises to produce 8,000 facemasks and hand sanitisers for companies and suppliers.

The initiative was in fulfilment of Governor Godwin Obaseki’s resolve to engage local skilled workers, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Executive Director, EdoJobs, Mrs. Ukinebo Dare, addressing reporters on Wednesday in Benin, said that the government was committed to leveraging resources within the state to boost productivity and meet local demands for health and safety supplies, amid COVID-19 pandemic.

She said: “We are supporting out-of-work businesses at this period of the Coronavirus pandemic. We are first generating businesses for out-of-work enterprises.
