THE Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Maiduguri Zonal Command, yesterday arraigned one Muhammad Abdullahi Kulloma at the Borno State High Court for an alleged N40.5m fraud.

The defendant was docked alongside his firm, Mbuta Criterion Nigeria Limited, for allegedly deceiving his victim, Modu Mustapha Tijjani, the Managing Director of Gumalti Nigeria Limited, and fraudulently obtained the above mentioned sum in tranches of N27.5million and N13 Million through his personal and company accounts respectively.

Consequently, counsel for the prosecution, Mukhtar Ali Ahmed, prayed the court for a trial date to present his witnesses.
The presiding judge, Justice Kumaliya adjourned the case to September 13, 2021 for commencement of trial. She however ordered that the defendant be remanded at the Maiduguri Medium Correctional Centre.
