Egyptian President AbdelFattah El-Sisi has urged other world leaders to take a stand against those supporting and sponsoring terrorism.
He said terrorism cannot be defeated if the world does not take a stand against those supporting it and other forms of extremism.
El-Sisi spoke during a panel of discussion, titled: International Peace and Security: Current Challenges, at the World Youth Forum in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt.
He said: “For countries supporting terrorism, we have to have a unified stance against them and this is something we cannot overlook any longer.

“The inability to take a stand would bring repercussions that are going to lead to the escalation of terrorism. If we do not stand steadfast against countries supporting terrorism and have a crucial stance against them, then we will not develop.”
El-Sisi described terrorism as a demonic act, stressing that it is being used by some individuals to achieve their selfish means.
“Organised crime operating today operates under the shield of terrorism. No one can direct any accusation to anyone because today, terrorism is a cover for many of the objectives some countries are trying to attain.
“The gravest thing about terrorism is that ideologies and beliefs have been used in order to attain the objectives and interest of political aspects. We, as the youth of the world, need to know and be aware of this,” he said.
The Egyptian President expressed fear that the current terrorism level may not abate unless countries unite against those sponsoring it.
“Will terrorism change or not? So long as there is interest, so long as there are objectives of nations, they are never going to innovate new tools in order to attain these objectives. The matter is not how we are going to overcome this terrorism. You have to know that this is a new tool that has been used for years to attain political objectives,” El-Sisi added.
