THE Nigeria Olympic Committee (NOC) has appointed HRM Oba Saheed Elegunshi as the Chairman of the NOC Patrons Forum during its board meeting which is part of their Annual General Meeting on Thursday in Abuja.
Also, the NOC has set up a four-man panel to mediate in the crisis rocking the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN).
Being the first Patrons Forum, according to NOC, the objective of the forum is to further highlight roles and expectations of Patrons of the Olympic and Commonwealth movement.
An elated Elegushi, however, pledged total commitment to the course of the Olympic movement.

Among the patrons in attendance were Dr Emmanuel Uduaghan, Alhaji Ibrahim Galadima, Marc Wabara, kofo Nwokedi and Maj. Gen. Adamu Dyeri.
According to the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of NOC, Phemmy Adetula, the panel has Francis Orbih as chairman while other members are Binga Margaret and Toyin Aluko while Emmanuel Nweri is the secretary.
The spokesman said the committee was mandated to report its findings to NOC.
The AGM holds today at the Starview Palace Hotel in Abuja.
