Enugu trains 20 medics

FIRST batch of 20 medical doctors, nurses and support staff are currently being trained in Enugu State Ministry of Health, in preparedness to any outbreak in the state.

Chairman of the Nigerian Medical Association (NMA), Enugu state chapter, Dr Ike Okwesili who disclosed this in an interview said NMA will continue in the public health education, training  and provision of man power to the health care facilities.

While calling for a total lockdown of the states across the country, Okwesili assured that the Association will continue to work with the Enugu State Technical Working group to ensure the best is done in the state in mitigating the pandemic.

“We enjoin public spirited individuals and groups to reach the state Ministry of Health and offer assistance in any form or as volunteers. Bill boards as reminders should not only be used during elections but in outbreak or pandemic like this to communicate and remind us.
