Envoy: help yourselves to help your country

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Italy, Mfawa Abam, has urged Nigerians living in Italy to develop their career, make good money and invest in their motherland.

The ambassador spoke at the Yoruba Day celebration in Bologna, Italy, organised by Yoruba National Community in Italy.

Abam said: “The speaker on the topic today, Mr. Olufemi Iyanda, has covered the ground on my advice for you today. To do well in Italy, you have to learn their language, integrate very well and make yourself employable in sectors that you can earn good money. It is when you have enough; build up good savings that you can invest in Nigeria. So, I urge you to reflect on this…’’

President of the association, Kola Oladele, said the association was formed 11 years ago to help newcomers to Italy and promote Yoruba culture and language among children born in Italy.
