Ex-council chief killed in Adamawa

Gunmen have killed a former chairman of Transition Management Committee of Ganye council in Adamawa State, Sabastian Kaikai.

The assailants killed Kaikai in his country home  in the early hours of Tuesday.

The motive for his murder was not ascertained at press time.

A neighbour said, “The gunmen came in the middle of the night shooting into the air and rushing to his house.

“He struggled to sneak out of his residence, but they got him. They killed him instantly.”

Ganye council information officer Kabiru Njidda confirmed Kaikai’s murder.

Police spokesman Suleiman Nguroje said Commissioner of Police Audu Madaki dispatched a team of officers and men to seek out the gunmen and make them face justice.
