Ex-INEC boss, Nwosu hails Obiano over Zik’s holiday

Former chairman, National Electoral Commission of Nigeria (NECON), Prof Humphrey Nwosu has commended Anambra state Governor, Willie Obiano for declaring a one-day public holiday in the state in memory of former President of Nigeria, Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe.

Nwosu spoke via Skype in his base in America, describing the maiden celebration of Zik’s day as memorable.

He praised the Governor for immortalizing one of the great sons of Anambra state who left unmatchable legacies for the country.

Nwosu who was also former commissioner for local government in the Old Anambra also commended Obiano for introducing operation light up Anambra which has reduced crimes in the state.

He said, “I’m also excited for the launching of operation Kpochapu phase II and the introduction of Africa’s first super smart close circuit cameras for the state.”

Nwosu, a native of Ajali in Orumba North of Anambra state, known for operation A4 electoral system lauded the Governor’s procurement and distribution of security gadgets fitted 110 vehicles to security agencies in the state was unique for safer Christmas.

He said he was particularly challenged over the Governor commitment to security of lives and property amidst paucity of funds, urging him to mobilize resources to intervene in some of the deplorable roads ahead the Christmas season.
