A former Lagos State Police Commissioner Abubakar Tsav died in Makurdi, the Benue State capital.
The ex-police chief was buried on Monday around 5 p.m at the Makurdi Cemetery according to Islamic rites.
He was 82.
Sani, one of the deceased’s sons, announced his father’s demise while addressing reporters yesterday at the Makurdi Central Mosque.
Sani said his father died early on Monday while receiving treatment after a protracted illness at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC) in the town.
“It was his wish to be buried anywhere he answered the call of Allah,” he said.

Tsav, a former Federal Commissioner in the Public Complaint Commission, is survived by his wife and six children.
Benue State Governor Samuel Ortom condoled with the family of the deceased.
In a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Tever Akase, the governor expressed shock over Tsav’s death.
He described the late Tsav as a gallant police officer who served his country diligently.
The governor prayed God to grant the deceased eternal rest and his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
