Presidential candidate of Nigerian Rescue Movement (NRM) in February 25 election, Felix Osakwe, has congratulated President Bola Tinubu and Vice President, Kashim Shettima.
He described their emergence as the will of God. This was contained in a congratulatory message he signed in Abuja.
The letter reads: “It is with great honour and gratitude to God that I write to congratulate you on your inauguration as President and Vice President of our nation. Your victory in 2023 elections was well deserved and I am propitious that the nation of our dreams is here at last. “Ironically, the journey to this great moment was not an easy one. Nigerians participated in one of the most competitive elections to elect leaders.
“Interestingly, on February 25, the people spoke in one voice, electing you as their preferred leaders to lead us towards national progress and prosperity.
“As a candidate in the process, it is my belief it is God who appoints a king and it pleased him to choose whoever he wants out of the 18 of us that contested with you. I and my Vice, Alh Mohammed Fagge have long accepted your victory as the collective choice of the people and will of God.”
The Ukwani, Delta State-born preacher stressed that “Mr. President, permit me to specially salute you on your inaugural speech which proved to Nigerians your choice to lead the nation is not bent on self adulation but a vision to reposition our nation on the path of greatness. Your speech was a reflection of our dreams, thoughts and the collective aspiration of every citizen… ‘’
“Your focused areas of reforming the security doctrine and architecture, revamping the economy, job creation, agricultural revolution, Unified Exchange Rate, Reduction in Interest rates, Review of all anti- Investment and Multiple Taxation Policies, infrastructure Reform, Youth/Women Empowerment and putting and end to the age long subsidy regime are pointers that have re-ignited my confidence on your capacity to lead us. I remain optimistic that your tenure shall truly be a renewed hope for all Nigerians.
“I am hereby obliged to call on Nigerians in the spirit of love and national brotherhood, national solidarity, patriotism… to join hands with His Excellency, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his vice, Ibrahim Shettima so that, together we can build a nation united in Peace, progress and prosperity for all.
“Mr President, I pray that God grant you the strength, wisdom and the Political will to lead this nation to it’s God given destiny and greatness.” Ambassador Osakwe stated as he called on aggrieved Presidential candidate to congratulate the Presisent, withdraw their court cases and join hands to lift Nigeria up to greatness.”
