Former Speaker of the House of Representatives Alhaji Ghali Umar Na’Aba is not dead.
A younger sister of the former lawmaker, Hussaina Umar Na’Aaba, confirmed this on Friday in Kano .
“Na’Abba is hale and hearty. He is observing his fasting together with his Muslim brothers. He is happy and strong, ” she said.
The Nation reports that Alhaji Ghali Umar Na’aaba’s rumoured death has been trending online since Thursday morning,
Some national newspapers even published his rumoured death.
Hussaina said there was no iota of truth in the rumour, claiming she spoke to the former Speaker a few moment ago on phone.
‘’We heard about the rumour also but to God be the glory, he is hale and hearty,’’ said Hussaina.
She said Na’Aba has also debunked his death in a facebook post.
Na’Aba was Speaker between 1999-2003 after the resignation of Alhaji Salisu Buhari over certificate forgery.
