Ahead of the national convention of the All Progressives Congress (APC) a former governorship candidate of the party in Enugu State, Senator Ayogu Eze has called on the party faithful in the state to unite and let the party enjoy a smooth exercise that will guarantee its success in 2023 elections.

Eze, who made the call during the Enugu State APC Stakeholders meeting at the state secretariat of the party in Enugu, stressed that the progress of the party depended on how successful it conducts the forthcoming congresses.

According to him, members of the party must stop rumour mongering and establish APC as a party capable of winning elections in the state.

“Let us go back to our wards and harmonise our lists. We must go to Abuja (National Convention) as a united front. We must not let what happened in Abuja in 2018 whereby Enugu State did not participate to happen this time”, Eze a former member representing Enugu North Senatorial District said.

Another leader of the party and director general, Voice of Nigeria (VON), Osita Okechukwu, stated that APC is already united in Enugu but only needs to cement the unity.

Okechukwu, represented by Barr. Godwin Onwusigo said “The people at the grassroots need to know who they elected. We must not give room for writing of lists because that will further exacerbate the balkanisation of the party.”
