A GROUP sponsored by Mrs Funmi Falana, wife of human rights activist Femi Falana has petitioned Ekiti State Commissioner of Police Babatubde Mobayo for the alleged rape of a 16-year-old girl in the state.
Women Empowerment and Legal Aid chaired by Mrs Falana, in the petition, alleged that the girl, a groundnut hawker, was sexually molested by a commercial motorcyclist in Ado Ekiti, the state capital.
In the petition, it was alleged that the suspect took the victim on his bike after telling her that a customer was waiting to buy her groundnuts, and then raped her in a bush.
Falana in the petition urged the police to thoroughly investigatie the matter and prosecute the suspect.
