Family members of slain Bauchi lawmaker Musa Baraza have regained their freedom after spending five days in kidnappers’ den.

The Nation had reported Mante’s wives, Rashida Mante 40, Rahina Mante 35 and his one-year-old daughter Fausar Mante were abducted by gunmen after killing him at his residence last week in Dass Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

Confirming their release to The Nation on telephone on Tuesday, Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Bauchi Command, Ahmed Wakili said:” They were rescued yesterday around 11 pm by the police, no ransom was paid. They were immediately taken to the teaching hospital in Bauchi after being rescued.

However, when contacted later, the PPRO said details on their release  were still sketchy.
