Family seeks govt help over land

The Mosene Chieftaincy Family of Ikorodu, Lagos State, has called on the Lagos State government to help them by releasing the family landed property housing the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat opposite the Ikorodu General Hospital to the family.

In a letter signed by the Solicitor to the family, Mr Adefolaju Oloko, sent to the Lagos State Government through the Lagos State Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Mr Adeniji Kazeem, noted that the Mosene Chieftaicy Family of Ikorodu “are the owners of the radical title of vast portion of land which was compulsorily acquired by the Lagos State Government for an overriding public purpose albeit without any compensation whatsoever.”

The family Solicitor stated that the portion of land was utilised as the Ikorodu Local Government Secretariat and “it has come to the awareness of our clients that the Lagos State Government no longer required the aforesaid family land for any overriding public purpose and has taken steps to relocate the local government secretariat to another location entirely, hence the need for the reversal of the said land to the Mosene Chieftaicy Family of Ikorodu which gave out the land for such overriding public purpose.”
