President of the Abuja Chamber of Commerce of Industry (ACCI) and National Deputy President Ex-officio of the Nigerian Association of Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (NACCIMA) Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, has said that the ongoing construction of housing estates across the country by the Federal Government would help address housing problems.

Kayode spoke when he accompanied management of the Medaville Building and Construction to the Federal housing project in Akure, Ondo State.

Kayode, a former Minister of Defence, said the Medaville Federal Housing Estate project in Akure was built with high quality materials.

He described the project as timely, saying it would address shortage of affordable houses for the masses.

Kayode hailed the government for executing the estate project which he noted had provided job for many artisans in Akure.

He appealed to the government to invest and support estate developers in the country as well as execute more housing estate projects in other parts of the states.

The execution of more housing estates, according to Kayode, would tackle shortage of accommodation in urban areas in the country and reduce high cost of house rent in many states.

The estate developer, Otunba Ademola Akin-Benson, thanked President Muhammadu Buhari and the Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola as well as management of the Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria (FMBN) for their commitment to solving challenges in the sector through right investment.
