The Federal Government has commenced tracking all Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) programmes in ministries, departments and agencies ( MDA’s).
The Federal Government says this will facilitate transparency and accountability in the delivery of government’s capital projects countrywide.
Minister of State for Budget and National Planning, Prince Clem Agba, said the government will be tracking projects, performance and their impacts on the citizens.
Agba said this at the launch of the Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) WEE framework by the Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, and National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS).

“It is my pleasure to inform you that the reliability of this Framework prompted the alliance between the duo of NIPSS and dRPC with the ministry to ensure the application of the Framework Policy to the implementation of WEE interventions in Nigeria.”
Director National Monitoring & Evaluation Department, Federal Ministry of Finance, Budget and National Planning, Lawal Zakariya’u said,
“The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari has consciously increased budgetary allocation to ministries, departments and agencies towards implementing Women Economic Empowerment Programmes. This effort is being advanced at the sub-national levels as the states key into the programme.
“Despite the efforts of the current government in sustaining previous momentum and commitment to improve the living conditions of Nigerian women through the implementation of various programmes and policies at the federal level, it has been a daunting task to ascertain the effect of the interventions because of poor monitoring and evaluation frameworks.
“This gap informed the need for developing the WEE Monitoring and Evaluation Framework.”
