Adamawa State Governor Ahmadu Fintiri has kicked off the building of two flyovers in Yola.
The flyovers are sited at Total Junction, an intersection of two major streets by Yola’s main market, and Police roundabout, the city’s biggest meeting point.
Performing the groundbreaking on Tuesday, Fintiri said the event marked a major milestone in his administration’s commitment to undertaking an Urban Renewal to make Jimeta, Yola and other towns in the state befitting models.
The two flyovers will be located in Jimeta in Yola North Local Government Area.
The governor said apart from the aesthetics, the construction of the flyovers in the heart of Jimeta was in anticipation of the capital’s ever-expanding population and the attendant explosion in urban traffic.
“To those who had counselled that we were biting more than we can chew with these projects, the government assures of total commitment to delivering of these projects and would not concede an inch to failure.”
