The Federation of Muslim Women’s Associations in Nigeria (FOMWAN) has enjoined the women to ensure that they observe health precautionary measures as stipulated by the World Health Organisation (WHO), the federal and state ministries of health.
FOMWAN Amirah Mohibba Abdulrazak added that they should also ensure that they maintain personal and respiratory hygiene.
She said this during the distribution of food items to 110 women in Jos and Bukuru metropolis of Plateau.
She advised women to stay at home and ensure that they keep their environment clean.

According to her, the donations, which consisted of grains and sugar, were given to some less-privileged Muslim women.
The FOMWAN chairperson said this was to help them during the lockdown and the Ramadan period.
“This gesture is to ensure that the women and their families have what to eat during the Ramadan, especially as this is an entirely different Ramadan from what we have ever experienced, due to COVID-19.
“I, therefore, call on Muslim women to use the period of the Ramadan to pray fervently for forgiveness and to ask God to cleanse and heal the world from the current pandemic,’’ she said.
She said the association, in a bid to help mitigate the spread of the virus, had carried out various sensitisation to educate women on ways to stay safe.
