Foster dad dies after news of son’s death

Foster father of the late Lowo Oyediran Ajanaku, who was allegedly stabbed to death by his wife, Yewande, in Ibadan, Oyo State last Tuesday, is dead.

Pa Oyewole Yahaya Ajanaku was said to have died yesterday, following the disclosure of the news of his son’s death to him.

Pa Ajanaku (89) reportedly died at his home in Owoope, Gbongan, Ayedade Local Government Area of Osun State.

A family member said the octogenarian may have died of hypertension because of the news.

Pa Ajanaku was said to have been looking after the late Lowo, following the death of his father, who was his younger brother, in 1990.

The source, who pleaded for anonymity, said: “But on hearing the sad news last week, the man who was the elder brother of Lowo’s dad could not bear the shock.

“He developed complications and later died of high blood pressure early yesterday.”

The source added that Lowo’s mother has not been informed of her son’s death.

She is said to be living with one of her children in Ile-Ife.
