Foundation feeds 750 in Riverine communities

Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO), Sarah Adebisi Sosan Foundation (SASF) has donated food items to over 750 indigent people in 25 riverine communities of Ojo Local Government Area in Lagos.

Among the benefiting communities are Oko Lundun, Erekun, Itogbesa, Ojorin, Ibode and Ponpokun.

Also, Orufo Village, Aale Muwo, Okun Fiaku, Okun tete, Egira Okun kobo, Alaguntan, Igbolobi and Ishayi.

SASF founder, Princess Sarah Adebisi Sosan said it was her way of giving back to society.

Sosan, a former deputy governor of Lagos state, said the focus of the NGO was to support the government in alleviating poverty through empowerment and development programmes.

“Aside from the distribution of free foods twice in every December from 2015 till date, we have also empowered thousands of people at the grassroots especially the riverine communities. They have started small scale businesses,” she said.

The Osolu of Irewe, Oba Abideen Adekanbi Durosinmi, described Sosan as the pride of Irewe Kingdom.

He said the former deputy governor had used her wealth and position to better the lot of the less privileged through various poverty eradication and empowerment programmes.
