Four reverend sisters of the Catholic Church were yesterday killed in an accident on the Nkarasi/Alok axis of the Ikom/Ogoja highway in Cross River State.
Two critically injured sisters were rushed to an undisclosed hospital in Ikom.
The six reverend sisters were travelling in a Toyota Sienna car from Ogoja Local Government to Biase Local Government.
The vehicle was driven by one of the sisters.
An eyewitness said the accident occurred when a truck carrying soft drinks lost control and veered onto their lane, causing a head-on collision.
On Monday a truck filled with granite, lost control on 8 Miles in Calabar and veered off the road, killing four people.
Another accident occurred on the Beebobsco axis of the Murtala Muhammed Highway in Calabar on Tuesday, when a bus caught fire, killing one man.
An eye witness said the bus caught fire, but all the passengers survived, except one man.
