Funmi Aragbaye loses husband

Veteran gospel singer Evangelist Funmi Aragbaye has lost her husband, Elder Bola Aragbaye, who died on Tuesday about 2:30pm at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State.

He was 77 years.

A statement yesterday by Felix Olasoji for the family said: “During his lifetime, he worked at the Nigerian Tribune as a professional journalist under the supervision of Alhaji Lateef Jakande, who later became an Executive Governor of Lagos State.

“He left Nigerian Tribune in 1967 to join The Sketch Press Limited, where he became the editor before a former Governor of Ondo State, the late Chief Adekunle Ajasin appointed him as his Chief Press Secretary (CPS) in 1981.

“The late Elder Aragbaye, who marked his 77th birthday on November 10, 2018, will be remembered for his exemplary leadership and philanthropic gestures.”

He is survived by his wife, a music icon and National President of Gospel Musicians’ Association of Nigeria (GOMAN), Evangelist Dr. Funmi Aragbaye, children, grandchildren and family members.

Burial arrangements will be announced later.
