HOUSE of Representatives Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila and Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu have mourned the demise of Treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Caretaker Committee in Lagos State Mrs. Sumbo Ajose.
Ajose died at 55 in the United States, where she was receiving treatment for an undisclosed ailment on Tuesday.
In a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Lanre Lasisi, Gbajabiamila said Ajose’s death was painful.
He said with Ajose’s death, APC has lost one of its finest and committed members in Lagos State and the country at large.
The Speaker said Ajose’s invaluable contributions to the APC in Lagos State would remain indelible in the sand of time.
He sent his condolences to her family, the government and the people of Lagos State, especially the APC family, over the painful loss.
Sanwo-Olu said the demise of Ajose was a big loss to her family, friends, associates and the ruling party.
The governor, in a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Gboyega Akosile, described the late party treasurer as trustworthy, committed, extremely loyal politician and an invaluable asset to Lagos APC.
Sanwo-Olu also expressed his deepest condolences to the immediate family and friends of the departed, Lagos APC caretaker chairman, Tunde Balogun and the members of the party executive over the death of the late Ajose.
He added that the deceased, who was his personal friend and co-traveller in progressive political was accountable and rendered selfless service to the party during her tenure as Treasurer without any blemish record.
