In its continued demonstration of its message of giving hope and bringing help and relief to those in need, a non-governmental organisation, the Givers Supportive Foundation, has visited an hospital to pay off the medical bills of a patient suffering from Retinoblastoma, which is cancer of the eyes.
The chairman of Givers Supportive Foundation, Ambassador Ologbenla Babatunde Smith, who hails from. Ile Ife in. Osun State and who established the help-based non-governmental organisation to help the less privileged persons in the country, led the high powered delegation of the Givers Supportive Foundation team to the hospital.
The founder of Givers Supportive Foundation, bagged a Bachelor of science degree at Salem University, Lokoja, Kogi State, and has no prior experience in charity but has since leaving the ivory tower, dedicated his time and substance to fighting the scourge of poverty, sickness and hopelessness decimating the masses in the country.
Ambassador Ologbenla Babatunde Smith is a man full of compassion and love for ordinary Nigerian folks, who have been left to themselves by successive government’s to rot away in penury and poverty, but using the instrument of the Givers Supportive Foundation, he has been able to offer a new lease on life to many poverty-stricken Nigerians and sick patients.
In his latest charity efforts, the Givers Supportive Foundation train, moved to s hospital to offer timely and much needed financial aid to s patient down with cancer of the eyes, a very serious medical condition that easily and quickly leads to loss of sight of the person so afflicted by this most debilitating medical ailment.
Speaking while giving out the hefty money that will be used to treat the patient with the cancer of the eyes, the founder of Givers Supportive Foundation, said one of the objectives of organization was to offer help to the sick ones and provide relief materials to those needing quick medical interventions in hospital.
Ambassador Ologbenla Babatunde Smith said his.organisation was always ready to move swiftly to help those genuinely in dire need of help in the hospital or elsewhere, pointing out that Givers Supportive Foundation would never live anyone who reached out to it unattended to.
According to the head of Givers Supportive Foundation, “our mandate is to help those in need. Out calling is help and we will always be ready to help at any given time. All you have to do is reach out to us and we will quickly come to solve your problems with the resources at our disposal.
“What we are doing today in this hospital is what we have pledged to do when we established this organization some years back. We are happy to give this in support of paying the medical bills of this patient who is suffering from cancer of the eyes.
“We are so thankful to God for using us to offer this help to you and pray that you will recover quickly and return to perfect and good health condition in quick time. We urge you to stay in good health and don’t do anything that will affect your treatment and recovery,” added the boss of Givers Supportive Foundation.
After paying the money for the medical treatment of the patient suffering with the cancer of the eyes, it was the turn of the sick person to speak and as he spoke, he was effusive in showering praises and thanks to the Givers Supportive Foundation for coming to his side at the time of his need
While noting that he has been suffering with this medical ailment for a long time, the patient said he was unable to treat it because of the prohibitive and high cost being demanded by the hospitals he consulted with.
He said that but for the intervention of the Givers Supportive Foundation that he would have remained in his bad state and thanked the benevolent head of the charity based organisation for moving speedily to pay the high medical bills.
“I am so thankful for what Givers Supportive Foundation has done for me today because if not for you people’s support, my condition would have worsened and life would have been tougher for me.
“But you have shown me compassion and offered me the opportunity to get well by treating this disease that has been disturbing me for many years now. I am so appreciative of your efforts in my life and pray that God will continue to empower you with the grace to do more for the sick and less privileged in the society,” added the patient.
After speaking, emotions ran high at the hospital as the sick patient knelt down to pray for the founder of Givers Supportive Foundation, imploring the Almighty creator to always provide, support and make a way for Ambassador Ologbenla Babatunde Smith.in his daily life endeavours.
The patient also hugged the founder of Givers Supportive Foundation and other members of the charity organisation charting a new course of life for indigent and sick people in the country.
