The Global Peace and Humanitarian Awards, billed for August 19 in Nairobi, Kenya, will honour promoters of peace and humanitarian services.
It will also recognise those who contribute to development, refugee assistance, gender equality, youth empowerment, sustainable economic development, healthcare and education.
The event coincides with the United Nations International Humanitarian Day, which will hold the following day.
Chairman of the Award Committee, Dr Salinder Supri, said at a briefing that the award would be presented in various categories.

Supri, who is the Executive Director, Excellence One, United Kingdom (UK), said the ceremony would hold alongside an International Friendship Exchange with leading organisations and bring together top international humanitarian community professionals, diplomats, top government regional representatives, among others.
He praised the efforts of organisers and partners of the awards.
They include Excellence One UK, some Rotary International clubs, Advocate for Global Peace Forum International, Tender Heart, Visions & Dreams, Accessforte, Treasure Box LLC Dubai, Topflyers Magazine Int’l, Sports & Peace, with Global Entrepreneurial Centre for Peace & Humanity, Centre for Grassroots Development.
The awardees include Barry Rassin, former R.I. President, Bahamas; MP Helen Grant. former Minister for Women & Justice United Kingdom (UK), Amb. Dr. Josepine Ojiembo. UN Representative & former Secretary-General, Commonwealth, Kenya, Mrs Suri Namrata; founder, Peace Foundation, India, John Hewko, Chief Executive Director RI. Foundation, United States, Amb. Arthur Matti, Swiss Ambassador Switzerland, Reem Ghunaim. Israel & Palestine Peace Mediator U.S, Ann Frich. End Nuclear Weapon activist U.S.; Hon. Ndudi Godwin Elumelu; Tamara Lorincz, peace activist, Canada; Stephen Killelea, founder Institute for Economic Peace Australia and Dr. Rodolfo Rivera of Italy.
