Lagos, Nigeria,July 10, 2022 Celebrated fashion designer Glory Agbonita Ehizuenlen was named Fashion Designer of the Year at the 2022 Eko Heritage Awards, an event organized by Ivory Forte Entertainment in collaboration with the Lagos State Government. The prestigious recognition celebrates her outstanding contributions to preserving Nigerian cultural heritage through innovative and high-impact fashion design.
The second edition of the Eko Heritage Awards took place at the Lagos Oriental Hotel, honoring over 25 cultural ambassadors who are advancing Lagos and Nigerian culture across fashion, entertainment, media, and the arts.
Ehizuenlen’s win underscores her dedication to bridging tradition and modernity in fashion—translating Nigerian stories, motifs, and craftsmanship into contemporary, globally relevant design. Her work continues to shape how African identity is represented in global fashion spaces.
Other notable honorees at the 2022 ceremony included cultural icons Makayla Malaka, Nancy Isime, Toyin Lawani, and Nasboi, each recognized for their creative influence and cultural advocacy.
