THE Director-General, Lagos State Safety Commission (LSSC), Mr. Lanre Mojola, has reiterated government’s commitment to safety of lives and property.
Speaking at an event to commemorate the World Safety and Health Day tagged ‘Stop the Pandemic, Safety and Health can Save Lives’, Mojola said the World Safety and Health Day is an annual event celebrated globally on April 28 by the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
He added that it was initiated to create awareness on accident prevention and reduction of work related illnesses and injury at workplaces.

Mojola said that institutions and governments were faced with challenges of combating the pandemic ravaging the world, noting that there was need for continuous campaign on prevention and safety in workplaces.
The LSSC boss said the Y2020 World Day Safety and Health Day is focused on embracing safe practices in all workplaces and developing means of practical action for the protection of workers and their mental health.
Commissioner for Special Duties and Intergovernmental Relations Tayo Bamgbose-Martins hailed Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his strong leadership, “especially in this challenging period.”
