A building expert, Rufus Akinrolabu, yesterday urged the Lagos State government to check activities of building developers.
Akinrolabu, managing director of Bolyn Construction, manufacturer of brick blocks moulding machines, spoke in an interview with News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Lagos.
NAN reports that Bolyn Construction is in the forefront of popularising use of stabilised laterite brick blocks for building to reduce cost.
He said building developers were the problem as they could do anything for quick returns on investments.
Akinrolabu said developers build shopping malls without proper approval.
“It is the developer that adds extra floors on already existing building without checking whether the initial foundation structure will carry the extra load.”
