Groups donate PEPs to Police

Some non-governmental organisations (NGOs) have donated Personal Protective Equipments (PEPs) to men and officers of the Nigeria Police (NPF), Lagos Command on the field enforcing the lockdown regulations in the state.

The PEPs include packs of hand gloves and homemade face masks.

The items were donated by Olusola Imoyo, on behalf of Crime Victims Foundation of Nigeria (CRIVIFON) and Port Harcourt-based SITP Course 3, among other support groups.

They were received by Deputy Commissioner of Police, Administration, Zone II, DCP Adegoke Fayoade, on behalf of the Assistant Inspector General (AIG), Zone II, Ahmed Iliyasu.

CRIVIFON Executive Director Dr. Gloria Egbuji, on the occasion, urged the Federal Government to provide adequate PEPs to the first responders in the NPF and other security agents during this Covid-19 pandemic

She said besides the safety of the personnel, this would ensure that they played their roles effectively in the containment of the pandemic.

Egbuji said the group made the donation “to offer more protection to police first responders in the field in Lagos State Command.

She praised the efforts of security agencies in the government’s efforts to ensure security across the nation.
