A RETIRED officer of the United States  Army Major Jide Ijadare has been kidnapped at his palm factory in Ijan-Ekiti, Gbonyin Council area of Ekiti State.

It was gathered that a seven-man gang invaded the factory on Tuesday at about 2pm, shooting a worker  dead.

Eyewitnesses said the gunmen took away the  ex-soldier.

Police spokesman  Sunday Abutu confirmed the incident, adding, “Police are  working with local hunters to arrest and prosecute the kidnappers”.

Five persons abducted in Tunga Maje community in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have regained their freedom.

They were released in the early hours of Tuesday The Nation gathered.
