A fenifere National Leader Senator Ayo Fasanmi has described the death of late Oba Olatunji Hamzat as a personal loss to his family and progressives in the Southwest.

In a statement he issued in Osogbo through his media Assistant Mr. Temitope Adebayo, Pa Fasanmi said the news of the monarch’s death came to him as a rude shock.

He said he was planning to visit the monarch to rejoice with him for the success of his son at the poll as the Lagos State deputy Governor.

Pa Fasanmi said he has known the late Oba Hamzat since the Action Group’s days and when the late monarch contested for the Lagos State House of Assembly during the UPN and won.

The Afenifere leader said Oba Hamzat succeeded him as Vice Chairman of Alliance for Democracy for the Southwest.

He added that Oba Hamzat was a dedicated politician and loyal party member before he became a king.

“In the family of progressives, we will always remember him for the positive impact he brought to the party when he was Southwest Chairman for the Alliance for Democracy.

Pa Fasanmi urged the children to follow the path of their father.

“I pray may the soul of late Oba Hamzat rest in peace,” he said.
