An indigene of Yewa area of Ogun State, Gbenga Akinwande, has appealed to other indigenes in the diaspora to donate resources to various vigilance groups across the zone to enable them to protect the lives and properties of residents recently attacked herdsmen.
Akinwande, who said he had personally donated thousands of naira to vigilance groups in Ayetoro, Ketu, and Imeko for operational and logistics purposes called for concerted efforts by all to strengthen the fight.
He added that the killings in Yewaland had been going on for a long time ‘’because we failed to take concrete actions to end the menace in the past. The atrocities of the herdsmen happened as a result of our docile approach to dealing with issues.’’
