High Court suspends verdict on Osun PDP chair

By Toba Adedeji, Osogbo

Mr. Edmund Biriomoni, counsel to the Chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Mr Soji Adagunodo, has opposed the decision of the state High Court to deliver verdict on the chairmanship position.

The court presided over by Justice Sikiru Oke, in its ruling yesterday, said its decision to allow Biriomoni respond to the motion filed by the counsel to Sunday Bisi, who had sought the relief of the court to allow him call witnesses before the substantive suit would be decided, had been challenged by the respondent before the Court of Appeal in Akure.

He said he would want the matter before the Court of Appeal to be resolved and thus declined to give judgment on the matter.

The Nation recalls that Adagunodo approached the Osun State High Court, sitting in Osogbo, on July 7, claiming that he was wrongfully removed as the chairman of the party and replaced by Bisi.

He held that the argument should be on the point of law. Counsel to Bisi said they would call witnesses.
