The Federal Teaching Hospital, Ido-Ekiti (FETHI) has taken delivery of a three-unit 275KVA generator to boost power supply.
Chief Medical Director (CMD) Prof. Adekunle Ajayi, at the inauguration of the power plant, said the e-installation was made possible due to the management’s ability to prioritise the completion of the project above any other one due to its exigency.
Ajayi, represented by the Director of Administration, Dr. Benjamin Ogunrinde, said the contractor had the support of the management for the release of the first quarter to push the project to a befitting state where the hospital community could benefit.
The three generators will power the core clinical areas of the hospital. The facelift of the power house will begin in earnest to create an enabling and conducive environment for engineers and technicians.
The Head of Procurement Unit, Nathaniel Owoola, who made this known, said that the new development would make the issue of incessant power outage and irregular power supply in the hospital a thing of the past.
According to him, the 1000KVA of the hospital will still cover some areas by extension to the Multipurpose Clinic Building among others.
The Head of Works and Services department, Dayo Dada, expressed his appreciation to God for the opportunity given to the management of the hospital, led by Prof. Ajayi, for the laudable achievement. He said the inauguration of the generator would solve the electricity problem of the hospital.
Speaking for the CMD, Owoola, an engineer, expressed appreciation to every clinical department for their perseverance over the months and prayed for greater heights for the management.
