How I was duped while in search of record label – Adex

Budding music act, Ojewumi Adeoye Isiah aka Adex has disclosed how he got robbed of his hard-earned money by scammers who promised to help him with a record label.

The Osun State-born singer said the sad event occurred during his second year in the university.

“I suffered a setback in 200level in school when I got a call to come to Lagos by a record label that promised to sign a musical deal with me but unfortunately I was duped off my hard-earned money,” said Adex.

Continuing, he said, “Thereafter I met with one of my father’s benefactors who lived in South Africa and asked me to come over. Through the processing, I was scammed the second time by a travel agent who eventually interrupted my plan of going to South Africa to enhance my musical career. Help is all I need.”

Further speaking about his challenges, the afro-pop singer who recently released an Extended Play (EP) titled ‘World Wide’ revealed how he slept on the street at Iyana Ipaja after losing his father in 2016 just to fend for himself and his siblings.

“My challenges started after the death of my father in the year 2016 before my final paper exam in NCE. The situation was so hectic to the extent that I couldn’t write my final papers because of poor fundings and I needed to fend for myself and my younger ones as the first son of my mother. I slept outside at times and sometimes in a beer crate store for almost a year at Iyana-Ipaja, Lagos and at times I was thrown out of the house by my friends because of my musical pursuit,” he said.

“This struggle continued on September 6, 2018, I was invited to an award night show in Ado Ekiti, the worst happened on my way back home. Due to a fight between the students who won the 7th place and others, I decided to go back to my destination around 4 am which led to an accident on my way that nearly claimed my life. Right now, I need financial sponsors, promoters or record labels to please come to my aid so that my musical career will move forward”.

Presently, Adex is promoting Gbotemi, the lead single off his World Wide EP.
