Bayelsa State Deputy Governor Rear Admiral John Jonah (rtd) at the weekend relieved his experience during a surgery in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Jonah disappeared from the political scene during the build-up to last year’s governorship election; he was not seen in his office and he did not attend any government functions.
At a thanksgiving at the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) in Yenagoa, Jonah said he was ill and sought treatment at Dubai hospital.
According to him, he underwent a major surgery that lasted over seven hours but God spared his life.
He said: “There were even rumours that I was taken abroad in an air ambulance which was not correct. I made it because of God’s grace upon my life and I decided to thank God publicly. I have since gone back for a follow-up check and I am confirmed medically fit.”

The deputy governor also thanked Chief Serena Dokubo-Spiff, former Secretary to the State Government, for visiting him at Dubai.
Regional Overseer of the MFM in Yenagoa, Pastor Taiwo Oladimeji, in his sermon, urged Christians to always thank God, stressing that thanksgiving should be a daily activity.
According to him, one’s attitude of gratitude to God determines how far one would go in life. He added that thanksgiving attracts God’s favour.
