IBB Golf Club hosts International Pairs national finals

IBB International Golf and Country Club, Abuja will come alive once again when the Falcon Golf Development Company (FGDC) organised International Pairs competition berths in Abuja.

The two-day competition which is already generating interest among golfers across the country is in the sixth edition of the tournament. This year’s International Pairs will hold from September 3rd to 5th, 2021.

The Chief Executive Officer of FGDC, Remi Olukoya who disclosed this in Lagos during the week, said this year’s competition will be a keenly contested affair, nothing that the winner will enjoy an all expense paid trip to Algarve in Portugal, where the world final of the competition has been schedule to hold on October 26-30, 2021

While saying only 60-pairs would be allowed to participate in the competition, Olukoya said the 60-pairs would be on first come first serve basis.

“We are planning to make this year’s event unique in the sense that spaces for would-be participants is limited to just 60-pairs. This is to enable us manage the players well and get result ready on time and to also be in compliant with Covid-19 rules”, he explained.

While pleading for support from corporate organizations and individuals, Olukoya disclosed that Rwanda Air has already joined the fray with a business class ticket to Kigali.

“We need a lot of support; we need individuals and corporate support to make the championship a success. And don’t forget the winners will not just be representing themselves at the world finals but the The International Pairs World Final Series is an International Golf Tournament, played globally. Since its inception, more than 1.5 million amateur golfers from over 50 countries have enjoyed competing in this exciting, friendly and hugely prestigious event. The tournament would be played with strict adherence to Covid-19 rules.
