SUPER Eagles duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and Alex Iwobi were named Man of the Match and Most Valuable Player respectively in yesterday’s 2-0 victory over Lone Star of Liberia in their opening group C FIFA 2022 Qatar World Cup qualifying game at the Teslim Balogun stadium, Surulere Lagos.
Iheanacho, who scored the two goals, was rewarded with the Man of the Match award and N1 million, sponsored by the “33” Export Lager beer.
Iwobi, who also showed an excellent display in the encounter, was adjudged the Most Valuable Player on the pitch. He received N1million as well. The MVP award was sponsored by Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) partner GAC motors. The award was decided by journalists present at the game.
