Embattled leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN) Sheikh Ibrahim El-Zakzaky and his wife, Zeenat are at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport in Abuja in preparation for the court-ordered medical trip to India.
They are expected to fly any moment from now to India for medical attention over undisclosed health challenges.
They have been in detention since December 2015 amidst reports of deteriorating health.
A High Court in Kaduna granted the detained couple bail on Monday to enable them embark on the medical trip.
A top member of the IMN confirmed this development to our correspondent on Monday in Abuja.
