Hajiya Hazida, wife of former President Late Shehu Shagari, is dead.

She was 80.

Shagari’s grandson, Bello Bala Shagari, announced her death on his Facebook page.

According to Bala, she died of COVID-19 complications around 3:00 am on Thursday in Gwagwalada Isolation Centre.

He said she will be buried today at 4:00 pm according to Islamic rites.
