Kwara police clamp down on firearms violators

KWARA State police command has mobilized its area commanders, divisional police officers and heads of tactical units to ensure that persons bearing arms illegally in the state are arrested and prosecuted.

The action is in compliance with the directive of the Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Mohammed Adamu.

Commissioner of police Kayode Egbetokun issued the directive, spokesman Ajayi Okasanmi said in a statement.

Okasanmi said the CP warned that anyone in  possession of illegal firearms, especially prohibited ones, should “with, immediate effect, submit same to the nearest Police Station to avoid arrest and prosecution.”
