Operatives of Kwara Police Command have rescued a 69-year- old, Alhaji Alaga Olayemi, who was abducted in his farm at Oke Onigbin on Wednesday.
In a statement issued on Friday in Ilorin, the spokesperson of the command Ajayi Okasanmi said it took the combined effort of police and other security agents in the state to force the abductors to abandon their victim.
He said: “The victim is presently undergoing some medical checkup in a hospital.”
Olayemi, and some of his aides were returning from the farm on Wednesday when they were ambushed and abducted by unidentified gunmen around 7 pm.
It was gathered that Olayemi’s aides escaped with machete cuts during a confrontation with the kidnappers.
