A coalition of 70 groups under the umbrella of Campaign for Dignity in Governance (CDG) has endorsed the pair of Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu and Kadir Femi Hamzat for the coming governorship election in Lagos next year, saying “they have passed our dignity test.” Addressing a press conference weekend in Lagos, the coalition said, “both of them are God-send hands to move the state forward especially from where Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Babatunde Raji Fashola left it.”
The convener, Razak Olokooba, added that “with their brilliant performances as commissioners in Babatunde Fashola administration where they served with dignity, dedication and high level of commitment, it makes them a pair of safe hands for the state.”The Government House is no-go area for any other party beside the APC that threw up the pair of Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat ticket.”
Against this backdrop, the coalition therefore assured Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and Babatunde Fashola of their readiness to campaign vigorously for the success of the party and its governorship standard bearers along with other party’s candidates across board, enthusing that “victory in the next year’s election is as good as a foregone conclusion. The people will vote APC and its governorship candidate, Sanwo-Olu, and his deputy, Hamzat, for the continuation of democracy dividends’ enjoyment.
“Nobody would want good things to cease abruptly via wrong decision over choice. We will utilise our numerical strength and traverse all the nook and cranny of the state to garner votes for Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat ticket to ensure landslide victory because complacency can be dangerous as it is not over till it is totally over in politics and in electoral process,” Olokoba submitted.
The CDG also reposed their confidence in the duo that they would not disappoint the good people of the state, stating that “we have confidence that they would build on their experiences while in political office to take Lagos State to the next level of enviable standard in the comity of nations.” The coalition therefore appealed to the people of Lagos to vote en masse for Sanwo-Olu/Hamzat ticket next year for more democratic dividends, assuring that “we will not be disappointed.”
